How parking works here
Kaysersberg is organised the way most preserved Alsatian villages are: the old centre is kept largely free of visitor traffic, and parking is provided around its edges. In practice this means you drive to the village, leave the car on the approach, and walk the last few minutes into the streets.
Signage directs arriving traffic to the available areas. If you are staying overnight inside the centre, ask your accommodation in advance what access they can arrange — loading and residents' access is handled differently from visitor parking.

Parking sits on the approaches to the village rather than within it, which keeps every car park within a short, mostly level walk of the centre.
When it gets difficult
- Summer weekends and public holidays: busiest from late morning to mid-afternoon.
- Christmas market days: busy all day, worst at weekends.
- Weekday mornings outside the season: usually straightforward.
Alternatives to driving in
If your visit falls in a peak period, consider arriving by regional bus from Colmar, by bicycle along the vineyard routes, or as part of an organised Wine Route tour. Staying overnight in or near the village removes the parking problem almost entirely.
