Kaysersberg Christmas Market Guide

As a general pattern, markets in Alsatian villages run on a defined set of days from late November until shortly before or after Christmas, typically with longer hours at weekends. Kaysersberg follows a similar shape, and some days are notably busier than others.

The market occupies the streets and small squares of the historic centre rather than a single fenced site. Wooden chalets sit between the houses, with the church and the fortified bridge as fixed points. Because the setting is the village itself, the atmosphere depends heavily on the light: late afternoon and early evening, when the windows and streets are lit, is when most visitors find it at its best.

Stalls in this region generally cover regional crafts, decorations, hot food and drinks. We are not listing named traders or prices until they have been checked on the ground for the current season.

This is the single most important thing to plan around. The village is small and the market is well known, so weekend afternoons in December can be uncomfortably full, with slow-moving streets and long queues for parking on the approach.

Most visitors drive from Colmar or from elsewhere along the Wine Route.
